OK folks we need to introduce some basketball talk onto this website because I am sick and tired of reading about 17 year old boys on it. The Gators are a quiet 17-4 right now and will get into the top 10 with an undefeated week. Tonight they take on the South Carolina Gamecocks at 9 pm in the ODome. The game will be on ESPN2 at 9 pm tonight. These two teams met a few weeks ago and Florida got its first road win of the season, 79-65.
The Gators are favored by 14.5 right now after the game opened at 15 points last night. Betters are taking the points and you should too. This is not quite a trap game for the Gators, but their next two matchups are at home with Vanderbilt on Saturday and at Kentucky next Tuesday. Because they will be playing 3 games in 6 days they will have already spent some time scouting for the upcoming teams. For the most part, Florida has been a second half team this year but for this game I expect that they will not be able to pull away. The last time they met, Florida held South Carolina scoreless for the first 8 minutes of the second half. I don’t expect a repeat of that performance tonight. I expect them to build a decent lead in the first half but not be able to pull away in the second. Some of the bench players will get a little more time than usual and SC will be able to keep the game in single digits while the Gators coast to an easy victory.
