Gator Growl comedic act announced

“One night, I came home and I was so drunk, I pooped in the kitty litter…”

According to a press release time stamped 12:01am on September 27th, Gator Growl has signed Tracy Morgan as it’s comedian act, pairing him with Country Music star Josh Turner. The often slightly controversial 30-rock comedian will bring an edge to the growl festivities and offset the good ole country flavor of Josh Turner. The following is excerpt from the beforehand mentioned press release:

Gator Growl 2012 will feature Saturday Night Live alumnus and Emmy-nominated 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan as the comedic talent for this year’s event, held on November 9 at 7 p.m. at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Tracy Morgan rose to fame as a regular cast member of NBC’s Saturday Night Live in 1996 and played characters such as Brian Fellow and Astronaut Jones until he left the show in 2003. He was also known on the show for his impressions of celebrities Mike Tyson, Mr. T and Star Jones.

Recently, Morgan has starred on the popular NBC sitcom 30 Rock as character Tracy Jordan. His character was named one of the 100 Greatest Characters of the Last 20 Years by Entertainment Weekly.

Tracy is famous for pushing the envelope (although if you saw the Emmy’s then you know sometimes it falls flat) but he is guaranteed to make fun of his substance abuse problems and who knows maybe he’ll end up partying later that night out on University Ave.

Kudos to the Growl planners. Not a bad act to get booked (especially in comparing past Growls).
