Gator Growl 2012 announces musical talent

In a press release this morning it was announced that Josh Turner will be this year’s main musical act for Gator Growl. Josh is country music artist who’s greatest hit came in 2010 with “Why Don’t We Just Dance”. His newest album features a popular song called “Time Is Love”. Here’s the official video for it…

Some more information regarding Gator Growl, quoted from the official press release:

In addition to Josh Turner, this year’s event will also feature a comedian act, fireworks, and the Para-Commandos skydiving team as well as the Dazzlers, UF cheerleaders and the Gator football team’s senior members.

Tickets for Gator Growl 2012 are $15 for students and $25 for alumni and guests. They can be purchased through Ticketmaster at

Gator Growl 2012 is sponsoring tickets for wounded veterans and their families through the Wounded Warrior Project. Tax-deductible tickets for veterans and their families are $25 and can be purchased through

The theme of Gator Growl 2012 is “United We Growl” and the show will be honoring both the Florida Gators and the United States military on the eve of Veterans Day Weekend.

Kudos to the Gator Growl planners for coupling this year’s Growl with Veterans Day events. Now if they can just figure out how they can get the Gator Basketball game versus Georgetown on the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium big screens (the game on an aircraft carrier is the same night)….then it should be a real good time. Please attend and support the largest student run pep rally. Go Gators!
